On Aug. 10, eight of Atlanta’s most renowned DJs competed in the Thre3Style DJ battle at Opera nightclub.

DJ K.O. started things off and did a superb job of mixing rock, incorporating a Michael Jackson tribute, Southern hip-hop and pop. DJ Martina McFlyy did a great job of keeping the crowd engaged with Southern hip-hop, R&B and a great mix of several tracks from “Watch The Throne.” Atlanta legend DJ Jelly implemented classic Southern hits from artists such as Kilo, Luke and 2 Live Crew. He also incorporated pop and today’s Southern hip-hop.

DJ Jelly walked away with the first-place prize, which included a $1,000 check and a paid trip to Las Vegas. He will compete for a chance to be voted “America’s Best DJ.” –amir shaw
