Color was everywhere at Bronner Bros. mid-summer 2011 International Hair Show. So, it was only appropriate for rolling out to stop by Bigen, home of the permanent and semi-permanent hair color to get the scoop on how to color your hair at home.
We spoke with Bigen representative, Reggie Marble, who took some time to explain the process during a demonstration on the proper way to color your hair at home. Here’s what she told us. –mckenzie harris
Can you give us an easy step by step process on how to color your hair at home?
Most definitely! Because our product is semi and permanent color, all you have to do it mix it with water, stir it in a bowl, apply it and that’s it. Make sure you do a forty eight hour patch test. Our other line is semi, which you just have to apply out of the bottle, wash your hair, and towel dry … that’s all.
What Bigen products are great to start with?
I would say our semi … it’s new and the easiest. You just shampoo, towel dry, use it from the bottle, massage, rinse it out and your done.
So there’s probably only a few colors that are safe to do at home. When should you head to the salon to see a professional?
I would suggest you go to a salon if your doing any bleaching or any correcting color.
