A rep for Franklin recently confirmed the news to PEOPLE, saying that the soul legend and her fiancé are considering a Miami Beach wedding with an exclusive reception aboard a private yacht.
“Ms. Franklin is considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown,” said Franklin’s rep about her dress choices.
The news comes after a tabloid heavy few years for Franklin, whom suffered health battles in recent times and lost 85 lbs last year. Franklin, who is obviously enjoying happier times in her life, made light of the news when she told PEOPLE about her wedding plans.
“We’re looking at June or July for our date and no, I’m not pregnant, LOL!” said Franklin.
