Individual names: Pyro and DJ Ryu
Years in the business: two
What big names have you worked with in the industry?
We have worked with artists Kirko Bangz, Bun B, Pleasure P, Slim Thug, Yung Berg and Killa Kyleon. but on the production side we recently teamed up with S1 who is most known for Kanye West’s “Power” and Beyoncé’s “Best Thing I Never Had” we are definitely working on some dope stuff so stay tuned for that.
You made the Billboard charts with the song “What yo name iz” How do you plan to top that in 2012?
Well, we also produced “Drank In My Cup” for Kirko which is looking to be an even bigger song than “What Yo Name Iz?” but we have a lot in the pipeline right now so we’re anticipating an even bigger 2012.
How has being a songwriter helped your sound as producers?
It has helped us mold our sound by having control over how a song comes out opposed to just handing a beat over to an artist, or worst case scenario a bad artist and being at their mercy.
Top four reasons artists should use social media as a branding tool?
1. It’s free!
2. It’s very easy and accessible.
3. It’s highly effective when done the right way.
4. For any producer or artist trying to be seen or heard, using a social networking site should be on their list of priorities.
What has been the best part of your business journey?
Just the whole learning experience, we’ve fallen a few times and bumped our heads, but we always try to make sure we learn from our mistakes.
What upcoming projects are you working on that our readers should know about?
We’re currently working on our Sound M.O.B. compilation album, which will feature some of our artists that we’re developing right now as well as some of your favorite artists, so follow us on twitter or Facebook for the latest on everything Sound M.O.B.
