'Think Like a Man': Movie Review

Stars: Meagan Good, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Michael Ealy, Morris Chestnut and Chris Brown

Studio: Sony Screengems

Do women understand men? According to the film adaptation of Steve Harvey’s book Think Like a Man … not so much. With a telegenic cast that includes Meagan Good, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Michael Ealy, Morris Chestnut and Chris Brown, along with the comedic genius of Kevin Hart, this is definitely a chick movie, but there’s enough testosterone in the mix to keep the guys’ attention, i.e., a hilarious basketball scene. These women have the classic problems: mama’s boy, the commitment phobe, the player with the roving eye, in other words, the usual clichés, but then a relationship advice book, the aforementioned Harvey vehicle, gives the ladies the 411 on how to break the secret code that keeps their guys from connecting, in other words, it teaches them how to think like men while keeping all their feminine wiles intact. –p.d. lee
