One of the biggest names in America is vying for a chance to interview a man quickly becoming one of the most talked about people in the news.
Oprah Winfrey has confirmed that she hopes to interview George Zimmerman, the 28-year-old man who admitted to killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The talk show host spoke with “Extra’s” AJ Calloway and confirmed that she wants to sit down with Zimmerman so he can tell his side of the story.
“It is a tragedy and it is a shame that we’re sitting here 33 days later and there hasn’t been an arrest, or questioning of what actually happened. It’s a tragedy and it is a shame and we all know it. Mr. Zimmerman … I would love to talk to him,” said Winfrey.
Winfrey also gave insight on her recent interview with Whitney Houston’s family that gave her OWN network its highest ratings in history.
According to Winfrey, she received backlash for interviewing Bobbi Kristina while standing up, but insists that she had to “use that moment.”
“When I saw her, the reason I didn’t sit down [with Bobbi Kristina] is because I was told that she didn’t really want to sit down, so I just used that moment,” she said.
