With a top-heavy movie starring the likes of Beyonce, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and award-winning actor and dancer Anika Noni Rose, no one thought that a reality show-castoff would come and steal their thunder. When I went to the advanced media screening of Dreamgirls, however, J-Hud’s roof-rattling rendition blew everyone’s wigs back and pretty much wrapped up her Oscar before the movie even hit the theaters.
