“Now, this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I liked to take a minute; Just sit right there I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air” – the classic opening rhyme from the famous show the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air.” The show that put Will Smith on the industry radar was grounded in a story about a well-to-do black family in Bel Air anchored by ‘Auntie Viv,’ another successful matriarch. Unfortunately the warm sentiment and affection expressed on-screen didn’t translate to off camera and Hubert-Whitten was dismissed after the third season. She has also expressed publicly that she would never again participate in any project involving Smith.
