Beanie Sigel Gets 2 Years in Prison for Tax Evasion

Former Roc-A-Fella records star Beanie Sigel has been sentenced to two years in prison for failing to file federal income taxes for several years.

According to TMZ, The former Jay-Z protégé pled guilty in August 2011 of not filing federal tax returns or the years 2003, 2004 and 2005, and on July 12, Sigel went into a U.S. District Court in Philadelphia for sentencing.

Sigel told the judge that he took “total responsibility” for his crimes, but complained that some of his greedy family members spent all of his money while he was serving time on drug and gun charges in 2004 and 2005.

“I haven’t been able to get my career back on track since,” Sigel told the court.
