Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin state that while predators do prefer male animals with the flashiest secondary sex characteristics, this does not eliminate the average one, per say. The UT study suggests that female animals purposefully avoid male partners who are too good looking. Perhaps, like human females, women want all eyes on them when they walk into a room and not be accompanied by man who is prettier than they are.
