Often when we are able to get a glimpse of the inner workings of elite athletes, there is always an intermediary such as a TV or print reporter filtering information out to us — but it’s limited. Social media however, has enabled athletes to spill out the thoughts lodged in their heads in spurts and gushes, giving us insight into the mindset of an athlete on the world’s biggest stage.
