8. Melky Cabrera Gets Busted For PEDs
The breakout year that wasn’t. After floudering around the league for a few seasons, it appeared that Melky Cabrera would never live up to his potential. THen he landed with the San Francisco Giants and began putting up MVP-like numbers. To date, Cabrera was batting a major league best .346 with 11 HR, 60 RBI, 13 SB and was named the 2012 All-Star Game MVP.
Shortly after starring on the game’s biggest stage, Cabrera was suspended 50 games for testing positive for high levels of testosterone. So much for a breakout season.
