Kanye West and R. Kelly team up against Mitt Romney in a new song off ‘Ye’s forthcoming album Cruel Summer, proving Nicki Minaj isn’t the only rapper who has something to say about the presidential hopeful.
In the track, titled “To the World,” West accuses the Republican of not paying his taxes. He raps: “I’m just trying to protect my stacks / Mitt Romney don’t pay no tax.” Romney has refused to release his tax returns, leading many to believe he’s afraid to reveal how little money he’s given to Uncle Sam.
Compared with ‘Ye’s infamous claim that George Bush doesn’t care about black people, these lines aren’t too harsh. Romney shouldn’t lose sleep over the diss. But hey, it’s nice to hear Kanye wax political. –adam wenger
