Ridiculously Tan Celebs
Just the other day there was chatter that actress Tempestt Bledsoe had taken to bleaching creams to lighten her beautiful brown skin to a bizarre dusky color — claims that left many of her fans up in arms. Similarly a famed politician was blasted for just the opposite and accused of darkening his skin in a desperate attempt to “fit in.” Earlier this month Gov. Mitt Romney appeared on Univision’s “Meet The Candidate” event to discuss issues pertaining to Latino voters including immigration and education. Viewers noted however that the usually pale Republican appeared around five shades darker than usual. His look was soon called “brown face” and he was criticized for trying to make his face more like that of Hispanic voters. A makeup artist for the presidential candidate later admitted to using MAC Cosmetics’ NW 30 powder on Romney, but said the governor already had a substantial tan from exposure to sunlight. Like Romney, several other celebs have seen themselves criticized for their severely darkened skin tone.
