Former world champion boxer Vernon Forrest, 38, was shot and killed during an attempted carjacking in Atlanta on July 25, 2009. Forrest was a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic team and the winner of the 2008 WBC 154-pound-title. The famed boxer was shot seven or eight times and at least once in the head.
