Jerry Brown
Josh Brent of the Dallas Cowboys has been arrested following the death of his teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was driving under the influence when his car hit a curb and flipped in Irving, Tex.
Brown was unresponsive when emergency crews arrived and later pronounced dead.
Brent was able to speak with police and submitted to a field sobriety test. He was arrested and booked into Irving City Jail on one count of intoxication manslaughter.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones issued a statement to the press: “We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”
The two were teammates at the University of Illinois. This isn’t Brent’s first arrest for DUI. While a student, he was suspended from the team following an arrest in Urbana, Ill. in February 2009.
