The San Francisco police have also said that Crabtree is cooperative. “Our investigators from the Special Victim’s Unit is handling the case,” said SF police spokesperson Gordon Shyy. “Michael Crabtree has been interviewed with his lawyer and is very cooperative with our investigation.”
Oddly, the allegations involving Crabtree were kept quiet, and reportedly most of Crabtree’s teammates were unaware of the issue until their general manager issued a public statement.
49ers General Manager Trent Baalke issued a statement: “We are aware of the allegation against Michael and understand that he has fully cooperated with authorities. The 49ers take such matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing.
Police say Crabtree has not been detained or arrested.
