G.O.O.D. Music fans have been clamoring for a final answer as to whether or not Kanye West‘s crew will be releasing a follow-up to last year’s Cruel Summer compilation. Despite the project getting mixed reviews, it was revealed shortly after its release that G.O.O.D. would be prepping a sequel titled Cruel Winter. G.O.O.D. Music rappers like Q-Tip, Pusha T and Teyana Taylor all seemed to believe that the project was going to happen.
But now, G.O.O.D. affiliate Common is revealing that he believes otherwise.
The Chicago-born rapper shared in an interview that he doesn’t think fans should hold their breath for Cruel Winter. According to Common, the label’s artists are more focused on completing their individual projects, so another group compilation has become less of a priority.
“Oh, yeah, nah, nah,” Common told Vulture when asked about the likelihood of … Winter coming to fruition. “I don’t think that’s happening.”
He even went so far as to downplay the prospect that there was ever any real chance of a Cruel Winter project.
“It was more of a rumor,” said Common. “Cats been creating, but everybody’s been doing their solo album. So that’s what that is.”
The next major G.O.O.D. release forthcoming in 2013 is Pusha T’s long-awaited solo debut, My Name Is My Name, due in March.
