Medgar Evers Statue: Located at 4215 Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson, Miss. Just north of the Medgar Evers Branch of the Jackson Public Library. Evers, the field secretary for the Jackson branch of the NAACP, was assassinated in the driveway of his home in Jackson on June 12, 1963, at age 37, as his family witnessed in horror from inside the house.
