5 reasons the NBA needs L.A. Lakers to clinch playoff berth

The L.A. Lakers are a very bad team. Constructed to win an NBA championship with the addition of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, the team has underachieved and are currently out of playoff contention.

However, Kobe Bryant recently put his name on the line and guaranteed that his struggling squad will make the playoffs. Although it’s still a long shot considering the Lakers are poorly coached and haven’t played consistently all season, it’s imperative to the NBA and fans that they make a playoff run.
