For all the R&B and soul fans who’ve felt a little overrun by pop, hip-hop and indie rock as of late, there is good news.
This week features quite a few stellar new albums from respectable soul singers, ranging from neo-soul to retro-soul. Not that there aren’t a bevy of great alternative rock albums — and a couple of stellar solo releases from two rock guitarists affiliated with iconic bands. Coming on the heels of last week’s all-over-the-place collection of new releases, this week is a little less eclectic. But only by comparison — there is a little something for everyone, as always.
