French Montana shooting incident leads to arrest

A man has been taken into custody by the Philadelphia police in connection with a homicide that occurred last week near Bad Boy rapper French Montana‘s tour bus. Montana has refuted earlier reports that he was in anyway involved with the incident or that he was targeted by the shooter.

According to the Wall Street Journal, police arrested a 20-year old by the name of Frank Briggs. On the night of Feb. 28, the gunman opened fire at a crowd near Montana’s tour bus following his show at the Theatre of Living Arts. Montana was at a hotel for an after-party, when the shooting took place.

A man was killed, 26-year old Jowann King, of New York.

Briggs now faces charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and firearms crimes.

The shooting occurred just weeks after Montana’s friend and associate Rick Ross was involved in a completely unrelated shooting that appeared to be an attempt on his life.
