Kevin Ware was involved in what could be the most gruesome play in modern sports history. During the Louisville and Duke match up during the NCAA tournament, the guard for Louisville attempted to block a shot by Duke’s Tyler Thornton.
Ware jumped and landed awkwardly with all of weight on his right leg. Soon after, his shin bone punctured his skin and eventually protruded from his leg. His ankle and foot dangled from his skin as he held his leg in the air. Ware his since undergone two hours of surgery and is currently recovering.
