Antonio O’Neill never thought that skipping school and hanging with the wrong crowd could lead to his death. On May 10, O’Neill, 16, decided to skip school and hang with friends. The Detroit teens soon began playing Russian roulette to entertain themselves.
O’Neill joined his friend and put the gun to his neck. When he pulled the trigger, the single bullet in the chamber tore through his neck. O’Neill died instantly.
The teen who lived in the house ran from the scene and began dumping bullets into the street. He later threw the gun away, but he eventually turned himself in to authorities.
O’Neill’s mother, who works for the Detroit Public School system, was distraught and believes her son was influenced by peer pressure.
