Michael Jackson’s messy bedroom on the day he died (photos)

Michael Jackson remains one of the most beloved entertainers of all time because most choose to recall the pre-’90s MJ — the one who set the unbreakable records, hijacked the charts and pop culture and revolutionized album making and music videos.

But the man lionized as the King of Pop is portrayed in a starkly different light base upon these disturbing bedroom photos released to the public during the contentious lawsuit filed by Katherine Jackson against AEG Live.

The bedroom where MJ died in 2009 was a mess — littered with bed covers, oxygen tanks, prescription pill bottles and other medical supplies, photos newly released by the Los Angeles Police Department show.

The King of Pop died on June 25, 2009, at age 50 — with lethal levels of drugs in his system.

Jacko’s doctor, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for giving the troubled superstar a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol as a sleeping aid.

The images of the room where Jackson died are photo exhibits from Murray’s 2011 trial. They show Michael’s unmade bed, with what appears to be a doll partially visible under a white sheet.

They also show several metal oxygen tanks and a hanging bag for intravenous fluids. Take a look at the rest of the photos:

This is a fairly trite and sensationalizing headline and post. Messy bedroom? Looks like a regular lived-in room to me. The only difference from an average bedroom is the medications on view…but we know Jackson was using them. I had to look really hard for the “MASSIVE steak knife” mentioned in the text. Looking over to my bedside table is a knife…I’d used it to pare an apple while in bed…so am I also “wacko” and “weird”? So, what’s new about these pictures—apart from feeding the voyeur in us? Time to let this stupidity—and Jackson, rest….

What is up with the creep-tastic baby-pictures-dresser-display? o.O

And @looker1: you’re right– we did know he was an addict, (as so many people are,) which is why I thought it was sad he died, but I was absolutely positively NOT at all surprised. Same with Whitney… really really sad, but not wholly unexpected. Most of the time addiction is terminal. Fact of life.
