Protesters shut down Los Angeles’ 10 Freeway
The protests following the George Zimmerman acquittal are continuing and have apparently reached a new height in Los Angeles. Several social media users are live tweeting from L.A.’s 10 Freeway where they assembled and temporarily shut down the roadway.
Political commentator Jasmyne Cannick gave several photo and written updates on the scene that one point seemed to turn chaotic. Cannick reported dodging rubber bullets while being surrounded by authorities. However, the Los Angeles Police Department says that they were firing bean bags, not bullets at the crowd.
