Detroit turns 312 years old; its greatest cultural jewels

det, hitsville usaMotown Historical Museum/Hitsville U.S.A. — This is quintessential Detroit. The Motown Historical Museum at 2648 W. Grand Boulevard Detroit, Michigan 48208 was once the headquarters of Motown Records and Tamla Records during the heyday of the Motown Sound. Hard to fathom that the likes of Barry Gordy, Temptations, Four Tops, The Supremes, The Jackson Five, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles and other musical legends recorded and walked through this modest home-turned-recording studio that later transformed American music and became one of the most successful musical labels of all time.
