Gucci Mane fired an unexpected diss at some of his fellow southern hip-hop stars via Twitter this week. The Atlanta native tweeted a rhetorical question to his fans, asking them to list their “Top three P___y A__ Rappers” on Twitter. Of course, he started off by sharing his own three, which included one familiar foe and two others that were a bit more unexpected.
“Name your Top three P___y a__ rappers?” Gucci tweeted. “Mines? Jeezy Yo Gotti & Tip. No brainer. But there are 100s more….Go… #ww3.”
Gucci and Jeezy have feuded–with sometimes violent results–since 2005. The beef began with a dispute over the rights to the early Gucci track “Icy,” on which they collaborated. Gucci’s issue with Yo Gotti is rooted in a similar conflict that arose last year; though it was believed to have been resolved.
But it is unclear where Gucci Mane’s animosity towards T.I. comes from. They collaborated on the remix for Rocko’s “Plain Jane” last year, and were former label mates at Atlantic Records. Gotti was rumored to be joining Tip’s Grand Hustle imprint earlier in 2013, though it was later dismissed as just speculation.
Shortly after Gucci’s diss, the rapper added another bit of controversy to his Twitter feed. He and his longtime protégé, Waka Flocka Flame, had a well-publicized falling-out earlier this year, and Gucci offered to sell Waka’s 1017 Brick Squad contract for $1 million.
“I will sell all rights to Waka Flocka Flame for $1M, his next three albums and my percentage of his publishing mechanicals and touring. Who want this lil n__a?”
