The Bronner Bros. Hair Show gives you a great opportunity to meet many different faces and careers in the beauty industry. While many of our models were luring attendees into their web, we caught up with Weaves by Gail, hair model, Jenise Rayam, to find out what it takes to be a great model, how to keep your hair fresh, and some great fashion trends she’s spotted this weekend.
Jenise, did you start out as a hair model? How long have you been modeling?
Yes, I started out as a hair show model. I have been modeling for two years, and this is my fourth Bronner Bros. Hair Show.
What are some tips to being a great hair model?
Being extroverted and approachable helps. People like when they can come up to you, ask questions, and touch your hair. You don’t want to be standoffish, you want to be comfortable in your environment, and give that impression to others.
How do you keep your hair weave fresh?
I keep in contact with a good stylist for re-touches, and products where I can keep up with my hair myself. You have to treat your hair as if it’s your hair. You have to take care of it. Keep it moisturized, and keep it clean or it’s not going to work the way you want it to work.
Any big trends you’ve spotted this year at the hair show?
I have seen a lot of different nails styles. Stiletto nails are big. I’ve seen many great and innovative hair styles, but the nails have stolen the season.
