Despite the public proclamations of friends, neighbors and casual acquaintances professing Navy shipyard shooter Aaron Alexis’ sanity and docility prior to this unthinkable tragedy he had exhibited a long pattern of random violence and high-questionable behavior.
A retired military servicemen, who coincidentally lives in Washington D.C., remarked to me that despite his honorable discharge from the Army, when Alexis applied to work in a civilian capacity on a military base, he had to undergo intense scrutiny and thorough examination of his personal life by his potential employers. This is why people are now asking the question as to how Alexis able to secure a Navy contract job with his dubious arrest record?
There were some hints that Alexis had a violent streak and exhibited bizarre behavior long before the episode at the Washington D.C. Navy base.
