How did you arrive at this career choice? Was it a deliberate decision or a gradual and natural evolution? As a kid, I never wanted to be in pictures and that lead me to gravitate to behind the camera. My earliest memory of taking photography seriously was around the time disposable cameras were popular. I went through so many of them – taking pictures and getting them developed. As I grew, my photography grew. My introduction to the digital camera propelled me into a whole new world. I was able to capture and create photographs that I’ve previously only dreamt about. From there, I built collaborations and eventually started selling, not only my services but also my passion.
What separates you from others in your field? Having worked with the public for many years, I understand the importance of customer service. Not only great customer service but genuine customer service. Working in the corporate world allowed me the opportunity to learn and understand the many aspects of running a successful business. Complemented by my creative eye and serious passion for photography, I’m able to deliver a total package. I believe these elements set me apart from others.
Do you think that there are any widely held misconceptions about what you do? If so, what are they and how do you work to dispel them? I feel that some people have the notion that photography is easy. I can admit that hard work is easier when your enjoying what you’re doing. But, by no means is photography easy. It pushes me even harder to produce the best work because someone without my drive and passion will not be able to duplicate my quality of work.
Name two of your top role models: one from your industry and one from outside of it. The first person that comes to mind with this question is Tyra Banks. He is someone who’s dominating multiple career lanes, simultaneously.
Why do you consider continued learning important? The only thing that is constant in life is change. With change come new things to learn and experience. I never want to think that I know it all. Everyday there is an opportunity to learn something new.

Describe goal setting methods you use and how you evaluate your success? My vision board is awesome. It brings to life the images in my head of what I want and need out of life. Writing down my goals also help me put things in perspective, allowing me to create a plan of what I need to do to achieve them. MY success is measured by how better I’m doing today than yesterday.
