NBA legend Julius Erving revealed that braces led to the conception of his daughter, Alexandra Stevenson. According to reports by Page Six, Erving reveals how he met Stevenson’s mother, Samantha Stevenson, in his new memoir.

Erving said that Samantha was a woman he met after an interview in 1978. The two would “relax” together on days that Erving felt stressed out. Samantha would listen to Erving’s problems and give him oral sex on some occasions. But due to getting braces, Samantha was unable to perform oral sex on Erving during one visit. The two ended up having unprotected sex. Erving said they only had sexual intercourse once.

Erving eventually discovered that Samantha had his child. His daughter, Alexandra Stevenson, was caught in a media frenzy after she became a tennis star and her famous father was revealed. Erving often stood up for Alexandra and attended many of her tennis matches.

Erving has not commented on the quote from his memoir.
