An elderly Minnesota pastor has been arrested in conjunction with the alleged sexual assault of at least two young girls who were under the age of 10, claiming that he was ridding them of demons that were inside of them.
Jacoby Kindred, 61, a former pastor at One Accord Ministries, supposedly told one of his victims that “the devil was inside her” and he could take the demons out of her, according to KARE 11 in Minneapolis.
The television station reports that the abuse included “fondling, oral stimulation and rape,” and happened mostly at Kindred’s Maplewood, Minn., home and went on for more than 10 years. It began when the girls were only six years old. They are now 14 and 16, respectively.
The investigation began when one of the girls’ mother found a written letter by one of her daughters that outlined the years of sexual relations with Kindred.
Kindred told the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press that he was not guilty of the allegations that the the mother put her daughters up to the lies because she was angry with him.
“Anyone can make up anything when you sit there long enough and you rehearse it,” Kindred told the newspaper.” All a woman has to do [in Minnesota] is make an accusation, true or false, and the man’s going to be in trouble.”
Kindred refused to disclose the location of the out-of-town funeral he said he was at. The local police have issued a warrant for his arrest.
