What a sad case! Delicia Latrice Barrow, 42, reportedly set her house on fire where she was found dead on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. The Huntsville, Ala. single mother, Randle Barrow, 8, was found more than 24 hours later drowned in the Tennessee River.

Young Randle had been absent two days from his school, the School For Autistic Children; authorities were notified. When they arrived at Barrow’s home, they noticed it was ablaze.

Barrow left a note offering clues to where Randle’s body could be found. She’d apparently driven him into the lake. “We began a search of the shoreline north of Guntersville,” offers Lt. Heath Thomas, spokesman for the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. “The body of the child was found along the shoreline in the Honeycomb area near Sunrise Marina just after midnight on Sunday morning by deputies. We were joined at the scene by an HPD Investigator assigned to investigate the death of Delicia Barrow.”

Barrow’s friend, Demetrius Bell, and his wife had taken temporary custody of Randle while she dealt with her health issues. Barrow asked for Randle to return home. Now this tragedy has occurred.

According to a police report, Barrow had been arrested for stabbing a nurse in the head at Huntsville Hospital, where she was a surgical patient. She was arrested and charged with second-degree assault on October 18. Her court date was scheduled for early next year.
