Roc Nation has added a new face to it’s ever-growing roster. Indie pop star Grimes has signed a new deal with Jay Z‘s label, bringing the experimental pop singer closer to mainstream audiences.
Grimes (born Claire Boucher) posted a photo of herself making the famous Roc Nation hand sign on Tumblr, signifying her signing with the management company.
Roc Nation quickly added Grimes to their website’s artists section.
“Grimes is the multimedia project of Canadian artist Claire Boucher,” the site reads. “She is best known for her work as a producer, singer and songwriter, although ‘Grimes’ also encompasses her work as a director, painter and writer. In 2013 Grimes was named the Webby’s artist of the year and was also awarded a Juno for Electronic album of the year for her third record, Visions. She is currently recording her fourth album in British Columbia.”
