Former Miss Venezuela and soap opera actress Monica Spear and her ex-husband, Thomas Henry Berry, were shot dead in front of their 5-year-old daughter, as they resisted a robbery. Their daughter was wounded in the leg but survived the brutal attack.
According to USA Today, “Monica Spear, 29, and Henry Thomas Berry, 39, were slain late Monday night on a roadside near Puerto Cabello, Venezuela’s main port, after their car broke down, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.”
The attack on Spear and and Berry reportedly follows a pattern of late-night robberies and assaults carried out by disabling cars with obstacles placed on highways in Puerto Cabello. Authorities in Puerto Cabello have arrested five suspects, some of whom are under the age of 18.
