What are the predicted bridal trends of 2014?

The conservative look [is on trend]; the high-collar with a little more of a sleeve, a little more fitted. A lot of girls also want short dresses. I think because of what girls are seeing celebrities wearing, they want to be a little more timeless and traditional.

Kim Kardashian is getting married this year. What kind of dress should a woman with her body type wear?

I would recommend that she wear a fit and flare, it’s fitted on the hips and waist but flares a little bit at the thigh so it’s not as tight as a mermaid.

What about women with a petite body like Naya Rivera?

It depends on the bride’s style. I could see her wearing an Amsale ball gown. Gowns by Amsale are made to fit petite brides. So it’s not overwhelming and it’s a bit of an A-line [dress].

What are popular brands at Bridals by Lori?

Rivini and Lazaro are most popular; we also carry Amsale, Kenneth Pool and Watters.

What brands can accommodate a bride with a $1,000-$2,000 dress?

Marisa, James Clifford or Watters.

What do you say to a woman who’s confused about the style of dress she wants?

Look at the magazines but don’t be stuck on a particular idea. What you see in the magazines looks nothing like that when you’re trying dresses on. You have to come into the store and you have to be open when trying on wedding gowns.

What can we expect this season on “Say Yes to the Dress”?

A lot of drama, a lot of opinions, a lot of moms that want the bride to be a part of what they wish they could’ve had when they were getting married. We have concept weddings, we have a bride who brought in a pig, there are a lot of surprises.
