Brian Blackwell’s Richard Sherman tweet
When an idiotic Twitter user likened NFL player Richard Sherman to Trayvon Martin, things escalated quickly for the racist bigot who shared his thoughts in 140 characters or less. Michael H. Blackwell, a chemical engineer in Oklahoma, thought it would be cute to suggest that George Zimmerman “meet” Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman to rectify his “thug life” behavior much like he did by killing Trayvon Martin. Blackwell drummed up the Trayvon comparison after Sherman gave an explosive post-game rant against Michael Crabtree with Erin Andrews.
Unfortunately for Blackwell, his tweet went viral online and he could now be in serious trouble with his employer. Members of the so-called “Black Twitter” collective quickly found his LinkedIn page and his job’s contact info. His company’s phone number was quickly passed around by people demanding that he be fired.
Sherman, a Stanford University grad who is the antithesis of a thug, offered the response below to tweets like Blackwell’s.

Blackwell has, of course, deleted his Twitter account.
This is the second time in recent weeks that a racist idiot has been run off of Twitter. In December PR executive Justine Sacco was obliterated online after tweeting; “Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white.”
Sacco’s employer promptly fired her for the offensive tweet.
