To say that Tahiry and Joe Budden’s relationship on “Love & Hip Hop” has been a rollercoaster ride would be an understatement. In addition, no point in their relationship was more bittersweet than when Joe dropped down on one in and proposed to Tahiry in Times Square before Tahiry gave him a hard “no.” While a surprising number of fans question why Tahiry said no, she recently explained her reasoning for turning down a marriage to Joe.
IN a recent interview with VladTV, Tahiry claimed that most people agreed with her decision to turn Joe down.
“I would say that 70 percent of my fans pretty much agree with me,” Tahiry assessed. “The other 30, you know, they get all cooped up into what that proposal was and because it was super big and it was on 42nd St.
Although Tahiry did indeed tell Joe to do something major to win her back after their messy breakup, she claims that his proposal lacked sincerity and the actions needed to warrant a ring.
“Quite frankly, the man could have proposed to me with Chinese [food] and the dogs around me, and I think it would have meant a lot more to me.”
Even though Joe broke her heart, Tahiry claims that she’s still hopeful that she’ll find her happily ever after with another man.
“Today, I still believe in marriage. I’m still a hopeless romantic. I refuse to let anybody take that away from me,” she said.
