Woman’s Horrific Facebook ‘Selfie’ May Have Saved Her Life
A Kentucky woman was savagely beaten with the butt of a gun swung by her husband and used social media to post her bloodied face to save her from further beatings and quite possibly, death.
The violent episode reportedly erupted when Susann Stacy’s husband, Donnie Stacy, overheard her talking to a man on the telephone in the bathroom.
Donnie Stacy reportedly snapped and burst into the bathroom and hit her repeatedly with the gun in the face until she was barely recognizable.
Susann Stacy couldn’t use the landline phone because Donnie Stacy had ripped the phone line out of the wall. Worse, Stacy said she wasn’t getting a cell connection. But she did still have Wi-Fi. So she uploaded a pic of herself — possibly for evidence, possibly to impress upon everyone the seriousness of the situation — and wrote: “Help please anyone.”
By the time police arrived the woman’s husband, Donnie Stacy, had already fled the house but officers found him nearby and arrested him, according to WYKT.
Deputy Sam Mullins of the Leslie County Sheriff’s Office described the injuries to the TV station.
“Several lacerations to the head,” Mullins said. “They appeared to be bad but we really couldn’t tell at the time, due to the fact that her hair was matted to her and the blood.”
