Michelle Obama headed into the heart of Beijing, China this week to kick off the beginning of the good-will tour. Michelle made history, as she became the first U.S. first lady to travel independently to China. Michelle radiated health, wealth and good wishes, as she arrived to meet President Xi Jingping and his wife, Peng Liyuan, in China’s symbolic color red.
Along for a day of diplomatic duties were Barack and Michelle’s beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha. Michelle’s mother Marian Robinson was also in tow as the good-will tour traveled to nearby schools to greet students, build robots and try their hand at Chinese calligraphy. The Obama women even played a game of ping-pong. For more photos of the first family’s good-will tour stop in Beijing, hit the flip. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
