A Rocky Mount, Va. man was arrested for putting a toddler inside a bathtub filled with scalding hot water of up to 150 degrees.
Shaquille Hancock, 19, is charged with child endangerment and felony injury to a child.
Rocky Mount Police investigator, Jason Divers, says Hancock is the child’s mother’s boyfriend. He received reports that Hancock put the two-year-old boy inside a bathtub with the water temperature reaching 149 degrees.
The child was in the hospital for seven days being treated for second degree burns.
Police are still investigating whether the incident was intentional or an accident.
There is now a protective order against Hancock. He is not allowed near the child.
