In challenging others to make a path for themselves, Randal Pinkett told the audience, “You should make the road as you walk.” He then expounded, “Don’t follow the road less traveled. Create the road never traveled. If you want to break through, if you want to achieve real market innovation, think about what has not been done or created. What’s the opportunity that is still untapped? Look at what Apple and Facebook have been able to do; they’ve created entirely new markets. I think we need to challenge ourselves to think outside of the box — it might sound cliché — but it’s still true. It’s not about what’s possible today, but what can we create tomorrow.”
