Donald Sterling banned from NBA for life

Donald-Sterling

Donald Sterling is no longer allowed in the NBA. During a press conference, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has decided to ban Sterling from any league events. He can’t attend any practices, NBA games or special events.

Sterling was also fined $2.5 million and Silver said that he will convince the rest of the NBA owners to force a sale of the Clippers. The process will began immediately.

During a heated conversation with his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, Clippers’ owner Sterling berated her after she took a picture with Magic Johnson and posted it on her Instagram.

Sterling said, “It brothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to? You can sleep with black people. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it and bring them to my games. You don’t have to yourself, walking with black people. Don’t put [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have see. And don’t bring him to my games.”

The recording proves that Sterling only viewed black people as products who can earn his franchise money and credibility.

Sterling admitted to the recording, but he has yet to apologize for the comments.
