Columbus Short ransacks wife’s home?
Just a few days after confirming that he will not return to ABC’s “Scandal,” Columbus Short reportedly broke into the family home currently occupied by his estranged wife and ransacked the property. As previously reported, Short has been receiving a string of bad press ranging from allegations that he threatened to commit a murder-suicide against his wife Tanee McCall to a bizarre “Tom Joyner Morning Show” interview where he dropped the N-word.
According to TMZ, who got their hands on official court documents, McCall has filed a new complaint accusing him of breaking into their home on Easter weekend. Despite the fact that McCall currently has a restraining order against the actor, she alleges that he broke into their home while she was away and destroyed several items. She claims that Short broke a door off its hinges, tore off her bedsheets and ultimately made her fear for her safety and the safety of their 2-year-old daughter.
Just before news broke about the ransacking allegations, Short released a statement to Tom Joyner apologizing for his behavior on his radio show.
“TJMS, My sincerest apologies for the confusion over my appearance on your show last Friday morning,” wrote Short. “I am a long time supporter and admirer of ‘The Tom Joyner Morning Show’ and I was looking forward to an opportunity to speak with you and your audience. Unfortunately, the early morning [appearance, approximately 5:45 a.m. Pacific time] following a late-night event had me at what some describe [as], less than my best.”
He also added that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
“Lastly, just to clarify, I was not high, drunk or otherwise under the influence. I was simply exhausted. After a long day, the early call threw off my schedule.”
He has yet to comment on his wife’s claim that he ransacked the family home.
