Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole join ‘After Midnight’

A trio of legendary soul singers will be joining the award-winning Broadway production, After Midnight. Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Natalie Cole will be performing as “special guest star” vocalists in the musical, which is directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle.


LaBelle and Knight have performed on the Broadway stage before, but this is Natalie Cole’s debut on The Great White Way. LaBelle will play performances from June 10–29,  Knight July 8–Aug. 3, and Cole Aug. 5–31 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 256 W. 47th St. in the heart of Manhattan.


After Midnight has already been nominated for seven Tony Awards this season; Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Choreography, Best Performance By a Featured Actress in a Musical (Adriane Lenox), and more.

The production features the music of the jazz age and celebrates the legendary Duke Ellington’s years at famed Cotton Club; with arrangements by the inimitable Wynton Marsalis. The narrative features Langston Hughes’ poetry and more than 25 vocalists and dancers.
