Lupita Nyong’o’s MET Gala dress
Lupita Nyong’o may have made her first fashion faux pas Monday at the 2014 Met Gala. The Oscar winner, who’s ensemble fans waited for with bated breath, was dubbed worst dressed of the evening by fans who didn’t care for her brown slip dress covered by emerald green netting.
This year the event, which calls for haute couture, asked stars to play into theme of the night, a tribute to Charles James, who is credited with redefining the couture silhouette in the 1940s.
With that in mind, several stars donned classic old Hollywood glam looks, including Nyong’o, whose dress designed by Prada and matching headband seemed to be an homage to flappers of the Roaring ’20s.
And while the fashion critics at Vogue praised Nyong’o’s risky evening wear, a number of fans thought the beauty’s look fell flat and expressed their disappointment in 140 characters or less.
