A group of 6 brothers stand accused of the rape of a girl over a ten year time period in Perquimans County, North Carolina. The girl, according to authorities, was first raped by the brothers at the age of four and continued until she was fourteen. Eric, 27, Jon, 25, Matthew, 23, Nathaniel, 21, Benjamin, 19, and Aaron Jackson, 18, all have been charged with sex crimes related to the incident. But the way this information has come to law enforcement officials is very interesting. Apparently one of the brothers confessed on his own. The police stated that the brother who confessed did so at the urging of his pastor.

Police started an investigation December 2012. When investigators began questioning the other brothers, two more confirmed the allegation. Making the situation even more disturbing is that the parents of the boys knew about the years of rape and did nothing. On one occasion, one of the brothers stated that their mother saw them rape the girl and just walked away. The Jackson family kept mostly to themselves and were all home schooled. But according to police, their education level was so low that the oldest brother, Eric, wrote his name with great difficulty.

The parents of the brothers John Jackson, 65, and Nita Jackson, 54, have also been charged with felony child abuse. The entire family moved to Colorado in 2013 in an attempt to escape justice. But once the family was indicted and charges were filed on April 24, 2014, the brothers moved back to North Carolina rather than face extradition. The parents of the boys were able to bond out of jail and returned back to Colorado. The brothers are being held on bonds of up to $150,000 each and have a court date of May 19, 2014.
