Donald Sterling drops massive lawsuit against the NBA
Former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling has finally decided to go quietly. A week following news that Sterling was countering the NBA’s ban with a massive $1 billion lawsuit, reports claim that the disgraced NBA alum has raised the white flag.
In the lawsuit filed last week, Sterling alleges that “the NBA booted him based on an illegal recording that painted him as a racist. He was also fighting the $2.5 million fine the league levied against him,” reports TMZ.
Today however, Sterling’s attorney tells The Hollywood Reporter that Sterling is putting all of the drama behind him and is currently in the process of dropping the lawsuit against the league.
It’s not clear why Sterling had a change of heart, but we’re happy to report that in light of this recent news, the NBA can peacefully move forward with Steve Ballmer’s $2 billion purchase of the Clippers. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
