Style tresses; 10 big and messy buns

MessyBunM

Gone are the days of neat, sleek and perfectly pinned down buns. Bigger is better and higher is flyer. The messy bun look should be your favorite, summer go-to look because it benefits you and onlookers. A high, messy and effortless-looking bun emphasizes your beauty. Take extra care to make sure your face is beat but not over-beat. Focus on your eyes, add an extra coat of mascara, fill in your brows and wear a coral-colored lipstick that compliments your skin tone.

To achieve a high and messy bun, you need the following tools; a soft brush (for your edges), edge tamer, pins and a few good elastics handy. Don’t ever use a rubber band in your hair. While you may like the hold, it rips your hair from the scalp.

  1. Flip your head over, this will help you grab all of your into a super high bun.
  2. Put hair into a high ponytail using a good elastic, like Goody hair bands and headbands.
  3. Depending on the length and/or fullness of your hair, separate your into as many thick bunches as possible.
  4. Wrap the individual bunches, one at time, in different directions around the band loosely and pin it.
  5. Because we need your bun to be messy, don’t tame your edges too much but hit them with an edge cream like Creme of Nature’s Argan Oil Perfect Edges, Moroccan Oil Molding Cream or Design Essentials Edge Control
